  9. Installation
  10.  
  11. 1.  Copy all files from your distribution diskette to your Windows directory.
  12.  
  13.     Example:

  15.         COPY A:SSC*.* C:\WINDOWS

  17. 2.  Start Windows and read the Windows Help file "SSCORP.HLP".
  18.  
  19.     a.  From the Program Manager menu select "FILE".
  20.     b.  Select "RUN..."
  21.     b.  Enter the command line: WINHELP c:\WINDOWS\SSCORP.HLP
  22.  
  23. 3.  Select Corporate Logo Screen Saver.
  24.  
  25.     a.  From the Program Manager select the MAIN group.
  26.     b.  Select Control Panel.
  27.     c.  Select Desktop.
  28.     d.  Select Corporate Logo Saver from the screen saver area.
  29.     e.  Select the Setup button.

  31. Multiple PC Installation

  33. The file SSCORP.INI is created during installation.  This file may also be
  34. copied to simplify installation.

  37. Note:  The files that begin with "ssc32" are for Windows NT.

  47.     If you use the password protection option, you MUST remember your 
  48. password!  Corporate Logo Screen Saver will appear after the time you 
  49. specified in the Control Panel desktop function.  If you forget your 
  50. password you will have to boot your computer to regain control.  All work 
  51. not saved before rebooting will be lost.    
  52.     This screen saver has an administrative password option.  When this 
  53. option is in effect,  this screen saver can be stopped by administration 
  54. or management.   WINDOWS NT SCREEN SAVER PASSWORDS ARE HANDELED BY NT,
  55. NOT THIS SCREEN SAVER.

  60.             Administrative Password
  61.               (Windows 3.1 only)
  62.  
  63. By default there is no administrative password.  A procedure to add an 
  64. administrative password follows:
  65.  
  66. 1.  Start Corporate Logo Screen Saver (SSCORP) in configuration mode.  Set
  67.     the password to your administrative password.
  68.  
  69. 2.  View file CONTROL.INI, section [ScreenSaver], profile name
  70.     of Password.  Write down your encrypted password.
  71.  
  72. 3.  Reconfigure SSCORP and remove the administrative password.
  73.  
  74. 4.  Insert the administrative password into SSCORP.SCR using either 
  75.     Method A or Method B. (below)
  76.  
  77. Method A:
  78.  
  79.     Use a Windows resource editor, such as Borland's Resource Workshop, to 
  80.     change string resource 514 to your encrypted password, in SSCORP.SCR. 
  81.  
  82. Method B:
  83.  
  84.     Use Debug or a binary editor.  Find the string "SRCHSTRING".  The 
  85.     periods ( 0x2e ) should be replaced with your encrypted password.  
  86.     Start with the first period.  Remember to end your string with a 0x00
  87.     for ASCIIZ string.

  91.     The administrative password is not intended to be easily installed, 
  92.  but for a corporate PC administrator it should present no problems.  An 
  93.  administrative password is not needed for a single user system.  
  94.  Suggestions for other secure and effective methods for installing the 
  95.  administrative password are welcome.

  97.     THE ADMINISTRATIVE PASSWORD IS FOR WINDOWS 3.1 ONLY.  WINDOWS NT
  98. SCREEN SAVER PASSWORDS ARE BUILT INTO NT.
